A Broken Heart

Dealing With A Broken Heart

Many of us at some point in our lives have probably had our hearts broken at least once. It is not a good feeling. I can remember back to my first heartbreak, it came at the hands of my very first girlfriend. We met in middle school and it was love at first sight. She showed me affection, attention, and love that I was not getting at home.

We would spend countless hours on the phone with each other. When we were not on the phone, we were hanging out with each other. My grades in school began to suffer because I would skip school to go and hang with her. I would experience my first kiss with her and ultimately lose my virginity to her. I was head over heels in love.

As with most teenage love stories, it would not last. We began to argue all the time and began a cycle of breaking up and getting back together. Unfortunately, that cycle would come to an end. She would meet someone else and tell me that she did not want to be with me anymore. My heart was crushed. I begged and pleaded with her to stay with me but it fell on deaf ears.

I cannot even lie, I cried like a baby for about a week. It felt as if my world had come to an end. I would just go to school, come home, and go to sleep. I did not want to live without her.

After about a month of this deep despair that I was in, a funny thing happened. My pain began to slowly go away. Every day that passed made it that much better. I would eventually get out of the house more and began to hang with my friends.

I began talking to other girls and my joy would eventually come back. I learned at that young age that the only cure for a heartbreak was time. You cannot screw, drink, or sleep your way from the pain. Just do your time and before you know it the pain will be gone.

Your absolutely right pj, I’ve had my fair share of heartbreak but the one thing I did learn from life if that you go through everything for a reason… they’re all little lessons that’s silently preparing you for your future self, and as far as Getting over heartbreak is Time…time was the Only thing that helped me, I know I’ve done my fare share of heartbreak in my day but for me the ultimate k.o. was when I found out my hs sweetheart married his hs best friend… but hey everything happens for a reason.

Thank you for commenting and sharing Sylvia. If I could go back and heal all of the hearts that I broke, I sure would. Especially for that special “44” out there.
